Amazon has added a new way of finding books to its site, which the company is calling Author Stores, single pages that feature all books from a particular author, plus, in many cases, an author photo and some related content, such as a biography, message board and streaming video.

Upon learning that the widely publicized Holocaust love story of Herman and Roma Rosenblat, which inspired the picture book Angel Girl, is not true, Lerner Publishing Group announced yesterday that it would pull the book from shelves. The cancellation follows on the heels of Berkley’s announcement that it would halt publication of Rosenblat’s memoir, Angel at the Fence.

Critics are clamoring for the cancellation of the Oprah-touted work, thanks to weeks of reporting from Gabriel Sherman at the New Republic. 

The holidays haven’t quelled the controversy about Angel at the Fence, the forthcoming Berkley Books memoir about a love affair that began in a concentration camp. 

In its issue set for release December 25, The New Republic is calling into question the veracity of Angel at the Fence: The True Story of a Love That Survived, set to be published in hardcover by Berkley in February.
