We at Ink & Virtue will, from time to time, give a shoutout to an extraordinary company.  What makes a company "extraordinary?" Well, as says the Maharaja of All Things Current and Future - Google - "First, do no evil."  Fetchdog, Glenn Close’s new SuperShop pet shop, is all about the dogs.  And, our I&V house mascot, Jake, was only too happy to test his new feeder. Another aspect of Fetchdog that we love is its vast resources.  You can spend hours on the site researching everything you ever wanted to know about your pup - and some things you never knew you wanted to know! So check it out, people.  Receiving your bundle from a company that really desires to make a difference in ours and our dog’s lives makes you realize that, indeed, a new age has dawned:  business and humanity coalesce.  Finally!

Check out the photos!

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to read Scot McClellan’s book.  I assure you, it’s not because of all the hype but rather out of curiosity:  Will he be able to convince me that what he’s saying is actually true?  Because if it is, we’ve got some serious problems….

In today’s world, each day brings new inventions and advancements and it would be impossible to keep up with it all. But, with times constantly changing, we have to do our best to keep up with them. One of the latest trends that everyone should know more about is FTAs, free to air satellite receivers and files.
An FTA receiver is a satellite receiver, which is well equipped to receive the unencrypted FTA satellite transmissions. Response to Salon’s, "Who killed the literary critic?"

Posted: May 25th, 2008 | Author: DylanRichards | Filed under: Society | Tags: , , , , | No Comments »

As a student who was graduated from both Harvard College (AB - English; PhD - English), I can tell you exactly who killed the literary critic:  We did!  And thank God for it!  Throughout my academic career as a student, which spans almost two decades, the thought, "What the hell are we doing?" would constantly creep into my thoughts while completing this-or-that assignment.  What I mean by this is that I saw, from the very beginning, the utter lunacy of literary criticism.  Right around Structuralism, everything went from "the importance of meaning" to "the importance of meaning."  Thus, the focus changed from bona fide questers of meaning to bona fide questers of mental masturbation and tenure.  Today, I’m an English prof and widely published…and still, I don’t see even a speck of Derrida’s or Lacan’s work as at all, whatsoever, manifest into our reality and our society; they’ve done nothing for society, neither good nor bad, as if they never existed at all.  And yet these toady academics (profs and students alike) couldn’t get far enough up their collective ass!  No, thanks; I’ll take Stephen King any day.

In closing, I’m reminded of a great Woody Allen quote:  "If it’s between the Pope and air-conditioning, I’ll take air-conditioning."
